Destruction Wrought

Democrats have opened Pandora’s Box and don’t know how to close it.

In their never-ending quest to gain and maintain power, democrats have opened a door toward their own destruction. Fomenting hatred against traditional values and meritocracy, they have conspired with academia, public education, and the legacy media to normalize “democratic socialism.” Democrats have embraced socialism, a strategy that they believe will enable them to retake Congress in the 2026 mid-terms. It will do nothing of the sort. What it has done is given Marxists and avowed communists a platform that validates the “benefits” of socialism and has, undoubtably, led to its rise. 62% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 25 now have a favorable opinion of socialism.

“You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept communism outright, but we'll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you'll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won't have to fight you. We'll so weaken your economy until you'll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.” Said Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War.

Openly committed communists and avowed Marxists have won democrat primaries in New York, Washington, and Colorado, displacing long serving democrats. Too late to put the genie back in the bottle. Young people have been seduced by the allure of free stuff, antisemitism, anti-capitalism, and the America is inherently evil drumbeat from the left and have cast their ballots for up-and-coming leftists. These young people are the future of this nation. And democrats, other than John Fetterman, speak loudly with their silence that, apparently, concurs with those who seek to destroy this nation.

The following is the platform of the Democrat Socialists of America;

Medicare for all – Obamacare has been a total disaster. Why not let the government run all of healthcare.

End the war on drugs – Legalize all dangerous drugs. Take a look at Philadelphia where drug use runs rampant and the police avoid the area.

Fight mass incarceration and police brutality – Let every criminal out of prison. They certainly won’t reoffend and terrorize the community. Unjust force by police is rare and prosecuted.

College for all – “Free” furthering education will be paid for by those who are working to provide for their families.

Housing for all – Again, those who are productive will be funding this scheme.

Support working class families – Seems as if working class families will be stretched financially paying taxes for all the free stuff for the unproductive.

32-hour work week – See how that is working in Europe. Productivity has fallen exponentially.

Union power – Unions have their place. They are to be a check on corporations and to provide protection for the workers. But they have outlived their usefulness. Unions tend to create animosity between the worker and company. They discourage a partnership or symbiotic relationship where both parties benefit. Union leaders have become corrupt and support politics that union members oppose.

Tax the rich – Taking all the wealth in this nation will only fund these pipe dreams for a few years until all the money is spent. Then the government will print more money that becomes more and more worthless, leading to hyperinflation, shortages of basic necessities, and a decrease in everyone’s quality of life, expect for the leaders. See Venezuela, Iran, the failed Soviet Union, and any other nation that has seized the means of production.

Green new deal – China, India, and southeast Asia will have more fossil fuel to burn without any restrictive emission requirements.

Free Palestine – End Israel and wipe the Jewish nation from the face of the earth. Support terrorism that seeks to destroy western society.

End the US war machine – President Trump already ended the failed “nation building” policies of previous administrations. No more boots on the ground to force feed democracy to the third world.

No more economic warfare – No idea what they are talking about. Everyone in this nation can succeed no matter where they start. “If you work hard and meet your responsibilities, you can get ahead, no matter where you come from, what you look like or who you love.” — Barack Obama

Freedom of movement – An end to borders, unlimited immigration.

Universal suffrage – Illegals, criminals, and anyone within our borders can vote.

A representative Congress – Representatives will better reflect the diversity of color in the nation and will answer to the ruling proletariat.

Popular vote for President – Populace cities and states will determine the President. Those of you in fly-over country will have no say.

Reduce the power of the Supreme Court – Especially since they are adhered to the rule of law and would be likely to find most of their fantasies unconstitutional.

President Donald Trump gave his State of the Union address in 2019 and said that America will never be a socialist country. Democrats are trying their best to make that statement false. If we sit by idly and fail to take the threat of socialism seriously, it will overwhelm us. So far, only the fools in overwhelmingly democrat areas are electing people that would destroy the very lives of those they seek to represent. If we fail to honor our citizenship responsibilities and sit home, instead of voting, we will get what we deserve. Socialism is a failure, in any form, and must be defeated. We have the power to do so if we choose to exercise it.

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” Winston Churchill

Seriously....

I was reading a FaceBook post where a democrat/liberal/leftist commented about how much good the democrats have done for our great nation. (I added the part about “for our great nation”) Her diatribe just bolstered the arguments that public schools have been indoctrinating their students for years with revisionist history. Republican bad, democrat good. Conservative bad, liberal good. Free market capitalism bad, socialism good. If history was actually taught appropriately and honestly, just think about how well we could all get along. Anyway, here are the counterpoints to her misguided comments that credited democrats with everything from creating the cure for cancer (just kidding!) to inventing the internet (for real). This is a pretty extensive list, but to properly understand just how out of touch with reality people that vote “d” are, this is worth the read.

• Social Security – FDR’s unfunded Ponzi scheme that the democrats have used to fund their never ending social programs instead of actually funding the program. Going into insolvency in 2032.

• Medicare – Lyndon Johnson’s expansion of the welfare state

• Medicaid – Lyndon Johnson’s program that reimburses pennies on the dollar, which has led to the increasing cost of healthcare and insurance and the collapse of nursing homes nationwide.

• Healthcare reform – The ACA is such an utter failure, so much so that the democrats already want to change it to single payer, Medicare for all or whatever is the name du jour today. Puuu-leeze.

• FDA began on Theodore Roosevelt’s watch, a Republican.

• The New Deal – FDR’s foray into socialism. Coming out of the Great Depression, FDR spent more than the GDP on programs that paid for infrastructure repair and numerous other employment and projects at taxpayer expense. This administration begat the entitlement culture that so permeates our society.

• Great Society – Lyndon Johnson’s expansion of FDR’s social programs to ensure the continuing segregation of African Americans into the inner city, giving them just enough money to live with a few creature comforts and keep them voting for democrats that only want their vote to maintain power.

• Peace Corps – Good program serving those in need. President Kennedy signed Executive order 10924 to create the program.

• Vista, which was expanded by President Clinton in 1993 as AmeriCorps. Six years ago, USA Today called “AmeriCorps a wasteful flop” saying many members are serving as recess referees. The article also asked the question, do we really need playground monitors? In 2018 a CBS News investigation revealed that AmeriCorps programs, are rife with sexual misconduct and failed to meet federal standards and requirements.

• The Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964 with more than 50% of the democrats in Congress voting against it.

• Women’s right to vote or the 19th Amendment - Between January 1918 and June 1919, the House and Senate voted on the federal amendment five times. Each vote was extremely close and southern democrats continued to oppose giving women the vote.

• Motor Voter – You’ve got to be kidding, a democrat scheme to allow more fraudulent voting, including issuing driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants is a positive for who?

• Equal Rights – The Equal Rights amendment has not yet garnered ratification by enough states to be enacted into law.

• Voting Rights Act – Passed into law in 1965 with a 77-19 vote in the Senate, with 16 democrat southern state Senators voting no and all but 2 Republicans voting to approve.

• Equal Pay Act – Signed into law by President Kennedy in 1963. In 2020, women make only $0.81 for every dollar a man makes. How’s that working for ‘ya?

• Consumer protection – This includes a number of different agencies created under numerous administrations, both democrat and Republican.

• Funding for science, Medical and engineering research, space exploration, NSF and NIH - Wow where do I begin. Spending on the above programs increased $4.95billion in 2018. How does that fit the narrative that the Trump administration has gutted those programs.

• Support for public education, HeadStart school lunch and breakfast programs - As public school unions support democrats by the tune of over $30 million annually, democrats do support any and all programs that the teacher’s unions want. (See common core and the steady decline in our student’s scores as compared to the rest of the world.) Head Start was a program that began with Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society initiative.

• NLRB, 40 hour work week, overtime and unemployment compensation – Yep, all democrat programs signed into law by FDR.

• EPA, National Parks, and increased wilderness areas, aka federally owned lands – Richard Nixon, a Republican, signed an executive order creating The EPA. Theodore Roosevelt, a Republican, made conservation a top priority and established many new national parks, forests and monuments intended to preserve the nation's natural resources.

• Endangered species act and FEMA – The Endangered Species Act was signed into law by Richard Nixon, a Republican. FEMA was created by and executive order by Jimmy Carter, a democrat. I guess not everything Carter did was a disaster, no pun intended.

• GI bill, UN, NATO, Marshall Plan – Check, all democrat policies.

• Vehicle safety requirements and emission standards – Sorry, the Clean Air Act was signed into law by George HW Bush. Federal vehicle safety requirements were instituted on Lyndon Johnson’s watch.

• TVA, federal loan program, PBS, NPR and finally, the democrats are responsible for the internet – TVA-FDR, federal loan program aka FFEL, Federal Family Education loan, began issuing loans in 1965, Lyndon Johnson, until it ended in 2010. PBS-1970, Nixon. NPR-1971 Nixon. And now the internet-To credit the creation or even the inspiration for the creation of the internet is ludicrous on it’s face. Free enterprise and the free market created the internet and capitalism encouraged it’s growth. To even attempt to credit democrats for the internet is beyond the pale.

So, there you have it. I am certain that many of our “friends” on the other side of the aisle believe, in some form or another, exactly as the author of those “factoids about democrats” believes. Many democrat policies and programs are littered with unintended consequences and even more are deliberately and insidiously proposed with an expected outcome that benefits their base and benefactors. Be careful what you wish for when deciding to give credit for some of the legislation passed by democrats that accomplishes little or nothing for the majority of the people that they are charged to represent.

Breach of Contract

Conservatives and libertarians constantly rail about our overreaching Federal government. The founders gave the Federal government strict limits and granted the States wide ranging powers. James Madison wrote in the Federalist Papers, “It is to be remembered that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws. Its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects.” In order to place checks and balances on the Federal government, three distinct branches were created, judicial, legislative, and executive. The Founders did not intend for the Federal government to expand and assume the responsibility to dictate how its’ citizens live their lives. The Federal government has overstepped its authority and usurped the freedoms of its citizens to their right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by attempting to control decisions better left to those who are most affected by them. Healthcare is not the responsibility of the Federal government. Those who cannot provide for themselves due to disability or economic disparity can fall under the umbrella of a societal safety net. Those who can provide for themselves should be allowed to do so.

After a democrat Congress and President Obama enacted the boondoggle known as the Affordable Care Act, many republicans ran vowing to dismantle Obamacare and won majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Now they have a chance to finally repeal this, regardless that Chief Justice John Roberts authored the opinion to save it, illegal takeover of 1/6th of our economy and allow government to dictate what we must have in health insurance coverage at, what has become, an unreasonable cost. Obamacare should be repealed and the Federal government should get out of the way.

Employer provided health insurance became a staple of workers benefits during WWII. Employer provided health insurance plans became the norm due to wage controls imposed by the federal government during WWII. There were increasing demands for goods and there was a limited pool of available workers. Federally imposed wage and price controls prohibited employers from raising wages. The War Labor Board declared that sick leave and health insurance, would not count as wages for the purpose of wage controls. Employers responded with offers to provide health care coverage. Over the years, this staple of employee benefits has escalated the cost of health care unreasonably.

The following is a plan to subject the health insurance industry to a free market system and minimize the government’s role in providing health care.

• Increase the amount allowed to be placed into a Health Savings Account to $15,000 per year for families, $8,500 for single.

• Designate the contribution made by the employer to any employer provided health care plan as taxable income. (Democrats have been looking for ways to do this for years.)

• Allow the option for employees to “opt out” of their employer provided health insurance and receive 75% of the employer contribution to health insurance as taxable income. (Those who choose so, can designate this as salary only and will not be required to purchase health insurance, but will also be responsible to make payment to any health care provider if services are required.)

• Allow the option to designate, up to the maximum allowed, of that income to their HSA as non-taxable.

• Allow health insurance to be purchased across state lines, granting consumers the privilege to “shop for the best price and coverage appropriate to their needs and forcing health insurance providers to compete in the marketplace as other insurance (auto, life, property) companies do.

• Remove Medicare and Medicaid from the control of the Federal government, (reduce taxpayer contributions to FICA accordingly) and transfer authority to individual states to manage both programs and have the authority to levy taxes to appropriately fund them. (Most states already provide an alternate plan to augment those programs, ie; Wisconsin has Badger Care.)

I believe that this system would move government out of the way and allow the free market system to determine the appropriate cost for health care. This will also eliminate the escalating premiums that employers have been forced to accept to provide this benefit to employees. This will also allow those who do not want to purchase health care the choice to increase their income that will, in turn, put more of that income into the economy and add to the tax base. Averaging the employer contribution to each full time employee’s family health insurance premium at $1,000 monthly and assuming there are 55,000,000 persons in the US receiving that benefit, an additional $11,000,000,000 would be freed for those businesses to reinvest in their companies, enabling them to expand their businesses and create additional employment opportunities to reinvigorate the economy.

The constitution is a written contract with the citizens of the United States. We did not sign up for this overreaching Federal government that is bloated beyond anything the Founders envisioned. $20 trillion in debt is unacceptable. It is time to downsize the Federal government and let us citizens make our own decisions. Getting out of the way of our health decisions is just a start.
