Deceived by the worship of self-destruction.

Pride, arrogance, haughtiness are evidence of self-worship and devaluation of God. Celebrities, politicians, and other elites seem to believe that their skills are magnified and their intellects expanded. Since they are proficient in their chosen fields, they extrapolate those skills to make themselves experts in matters in which they do not possess any real-life knowledge.

“Those lowbrow, knuckle dragging Christians cannot possibly understand the nuances of transgenderism or the “monogamous, loving” homosexual lifestyle.” “Conservatives that reject wokeness and long for a return to meritocracy are nothing but a bunch of racist white supremacists.” “The unwashed masses cannot possibly comprehend the democrat’s vision of economic policy and “fair” taxation.” “Supporting legal immigration equals denying refugees.”

“When pride comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2.

“By the sins of their mouths and the words of their lips, let them be trapped in their pride, in the curses and lies they utter.” Psalm 59:12

Biology affirms that two genders are necessary for procreation of all mammals. Procreation enables the perpetuation of species. Medical science has developed alternate methods to circumvent the traditional method to inseminate a human female, but both genders are still required for artificial insemination. Transgenderism, or what was once formally recognized as gender dysphoria, is a mental disorder. One cannot, no matter how much one desires it to be true, change their gender and be a fully functioning man or woman. A transgender male will never be able to father a child, and a transgender female will never be able to deliver a child. Additionally, surgically altered transgendered individuals will never be able to have normal sexual relations. Subjecting children to puberty blocking drugs or surgical alterations as “gender affirming care” should be accompanied with an arrest and revocation of medical licensing.

“Put to death, therefore, the components of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.” Colossians 3:5-6

Love your neighbor as yourself. Forgive as you have been forgiven. Political correctness and wokeness threaten the very foundations of society. Hatred and revenge are the hallmarks of the left with their unbridled rush to level the playing field to exact retribution from those labeled as oppressors. “Democratic” socialism is their solution where equity reigns and equality dies. Tax the rich until there are no rich. When the money dries up, then what? Capitalism is far from perfect, but it does foster equal opportunity to all.

Jesus said, “As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:9-13

Unbridled spending drives inflation enables fraud on an almost unimaginable scale and creates generational reliance upon government largesse. Black Americans have been shackled with government handouts and confined to inner city slums for decades by policies championed by democrats. Estimates of fraud are as high as 20% of government spending, or over $1Trillion annually. The national debt has been driven north of $37Trillion by wasteful spending and fraud. Think about that. How can 535 congressional members conduct appropriate oversight, when half of them are likely on the take? Donald Trump and Republicans are not an existential threat to democracy; democrats most certainly are. Congressional democrats have enriched themselves at taxpayer expense. They serve themselves, not their constituency. They take advantage of their position and wield power to their own benefit.

 “Your rulers are rebels, friends of thieves. They all love bribes and chasing after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, and the plea of the widow never comes before them.” Isaiah 1:23

We are living in an upside-down world. Our selfish human nature places us outside of God’s will. Society has prioritized the selfish desires of humankind and denied our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Reject the selfishness of the world. Without Jesus we are lost. This is why the world is spiraling out of control. This is why criminals are protected and law enforcement is vilified. This is why so many have resorted to violence. This is why families are torn apart over differing politics. There is a true solution to what ails us. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Follow Him and your world will return to ordered, instead of chaotic. Follow Him and you will learn that loving your neighbor is far more fulfilling than harboring pent-up anger and hatred. Follow Him and you will experience the joy of your salvation. Jesus can heal your heart and change the world. Follow Him!

Fever pitched rhetoric has consequences.

Enough already! Just because I disagree with your politics or you disagree with mine makes neither of us evil. We are all merely pawns that the proletariat uses to accomplish their ends. As we point fingers at one another, leftist activists, politicians, and journalists that continually provoke both sides are laughing all the way to the bank. When we engage in hateful rhetoric with our neighbors, evil secures and maintains its’ power. As we fight amongst ourselves, evil actions are kept hidden in darkness, allowing the purveyors of evil to prosper. Hate is a tool that the father of lies uses to sow division and strife, poisoning our very souls.

A house divided cannot stand. If this nation continues on its current trajectory, another civil war is not out of the question. The hatred sown, almost exclusively from the left, is tearing the fabric of society apart. Friends and family discussing politics often evoke a knock-down, drag-out argument that can end in relationships forever fractured. Some on the left even refuse to interact with family members that are conservative. How ridiculous is that?

For all you on the left that have never even bothered to watch any of his interactions or events, Charlie Kirk was not evil or a nazi. Charlie Kirk preached the love of Jesus Christ and that you should use your intellect to think logically for yourself. There was no hatred. There was no homophobia or transphobia. He spoke the truth and offered an invitation to all viewpoints to engage in productive and respectful dialogue. And for that he was murdered. Those who celebrate his death are overcome by the evil one.

For all of you on the left, guns do not kill anyone, only those who use them to commit violent acts. Black on black gun crime has skyrocketed, yet in the increasingly rare occurrence when police shoot a black man, newscasters report it as if it is an epidemic. Police kill whites at 3 times the numbers of blacks, so the argument that blacks are unfairly targeted lacks merit based upon the facts.

For all of you on the left, the criminal justice system in the United States has so many checks and balances that protect criminal’s constitutional right from unjust convictions, that an only an estimated 1-5% of all incarcerated criminals have been unjustly convicted. That means that 95-99% of individuals, no matter their skin color, have been justly convicted and sentenced appropriately. So, those persons of color in prison have earned their just rewards, rendering the argument that persons of color are unjustly and disproportionally incarcerated, moot.

For all of you on the left, government is not the answer, it is the problem. Welfare has imprisoned generations of minorities, trapping them on the plantation of entitlements, eliminating God and fathers from the family unit. Healthcare costs have been inflated by penny on the dollar reimbursements by Medicare and Medicaid, causing providers to increase costs to private insurance companies to make up the difference. Obamacare provides subsidies directly to the insurance companies and not to the insured. That disastrous strategy will do nothing but drive up premiums! Public education continues to fail our children as legislators throw ever more taxpayer dollars at it to “fix” it. Over 80% of school budgets go to teacher’s salaries and benefits, so it is obviously not just about the children. This wasteful spending drives up property taxes, pricing potential home buyers out of the market and forcing homeowners, especially retirees, to forsake home ownership. In plain terms, when government intervenes, government fails miserably. Winners and losers should succeed or fail based upon merit.

For all of you on the left, perhaps it is finally time to follow the science. Biology determines that there are but two genders, male and female. Men cannot ever become fully functioning women and women can never become men, no matter how much they want it to be so. Gender dysphoria morphed practically overnight from a mental disease into a condition in need of “gender affirming care.” Any doctor performing any gender altering care to minors should be charged with malpractice and banned from the medical profession. “Transgender” adults, if you can reconcile your “life” choice with God, more power to you. Loving your neighbor does not require others to affirm poor decision makers within their fantasies.

The left is a clear and present danger to this nation. Democrats have hitched their wagons with the insanity that is the left. The left is doing the devil’s work, dividing and conquering this one nation, under God. The invective arising from leftist democrats is constant and deafening. The rhetoric masks their true intentions; They have nothing to better the lives of the American people other than casting aspersions at their “opposition” party and its leader, Donald Trump. Allowing democrats, in their current form, to have any power in the decision making in Congress, State, or local government, will be to the detriment of our Constitutional Republic.

We, the people, have far more in common than the difference in our politics. We are all unconditionally loved by our Father in heaven, despite our shortcomings. For all the differences that seem to take precedence in our worldly lives, it is our spiritual lives that matter most. While it may seem difficult at times to love our neighbors as ourselves, without it our world will continue spiraling out of control. Hatred is easy, love takes a conscious and concerted effort. If we loved one another as much as Christ loved us, wars would end, families would unite, and communities would thrive. Placing God first in our lives is the greatest commandment, loving our neighbors as ourselves is the second. Embracing those two commands along with recognizing, confronting, and rejecting evil, is the recipe to heal our broken nation.

“Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

“You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.” 1 John 4:4-6

Paraphrasing Philippians 3:12-14, We have not completed our tasks and continue to work for the good of the people we serve. We will continue to strive to act in the best interests of the people we serve. We do not forget what is behind us, but continue to press on in order to accomplish the tasks that “you the people” have charged us to complete. So we endeavor to work toward those goals in order to obtain the reward, through God's call to love and serve our neighbor. With our new form of government, we will be better equipped to answer to the citizens that elected us as their representatives in Washington County government. The “people’s work” is a task not undertaken lightly. As a County Board, we represent everyone, whether you live in a Town, Village or City. Everyone in every corner of Washington County is no less important than any other. We are tasked to work for the benefit of everyone in Washington County.

This election was a first in many ways. The first Washington County Executive was elected. The vote was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, ending the standard “door knocking” campaigning, drive-thru voting, prompting many of us to vote early, absentee and to respect “social distancing” if we chose to vote in person. But, throughout this, we have persevered. Washington County voters cast their ballots and made their will known. Washington County voters are a knowledgeable electorate and make well informed decisions in the voting booth. I commend you once again for a wise choice in electing Josh Schoemann to lead Washington County into a bright future, especially during these trying times of stay at home orders and the closing of many “non-essential” businesses. We will all work together to overcome these obstacles and Washington County will continue to have the best quality of life in the great State of Wisconsin.

I would like to personally thank each and every one of you that exercised your sacred right to vote in a free election to choose your representatives in local government. I want to thank those that ran for public office and commend each one for a campaign well run, with honor and integrity. The promise from your new government is this; we will serve our neighbor to the best of our ability and will strive to be even more responsive to our citizen’s needs, continuing to provide services that are cost efficient and effective.
