Biased

 

US history has been deliberately distorted.

On the 250^th anniversary of the founding of this great nation, many of our young people are disillusioned, ashamed of our sordid past. We have endured decades of leftist academia indoctrinating our youth with the lie that America is inherently flawed due to its past sins of slavery and racism. That America is a colonizer, reaping its riches on the backs of the oppressed. Many young people have accepted this propaganda as fact. Capitalism is decried as an unfair system that rewards the few at the expense of the many. Young people are susceptible to the siren call of socialism, taught as a fairer and more equitable system. That lie is repeated over and over, so “systemic racism enforced by a white patriarchal system” is believed to be an accurate assessment of our society.

·         Is our history of slavery and racial bias unique?

·         Is what has been and is being taught historically accurate?

·         And how do our sins stack up against the rest of the world?

Slavery was abolished after the Civil War in 1865. Europe ended slavery well before. The rest of the Americas ended slavery a few years earlier with the exception of Brazil, which ended it in 1888. Much of Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East continued slavery well into the 20^th Century, with China still employing forced labor of Uyghur Muslim minorities and Tibetans. Other than the European nations, slavery in the United States ended at relatively the same time as other nations, making us no worse than much of the planet.

Racism in the United States, particularly in the south, was pervasive and borderline criminal. Following the Civil Rights Act of 1964, opposed fervently by southern democrats and passed by Republicans, racial equality began to take root into American society. Other nations practiced racism in a quite different manner. Where American minorities were subjected primarily to economic discrimination, other countries eliminated those who were different. Genocide and ethnic cleansing has occurred throughout history, including Armenians in Azerbaijan, Muslim Rohingyas in Myanmar, Ukrainians by Russia, the Yazidis in Iraq and Syria, the Fur, Masalit, and Zaghawa in Darfur, and the Bambuti pigmies in the Congo, and these occurred after the onset of the 21^st Century. Millions have been murdered or executed due to racism or religion worldwide since the dawn of humans. American “systemic” racism pales in comparison.

The radicals of the 60’s reconfigured their strategies to overthrow the government of the United States. Instead of committing violent acts, they targeted academia. Radical professors have indoctrinated a veritable army of young converts. Public education is rife with teachers that have “learned” the ways of leftism and are teaching our children a new set of values. These “teachers” have sowed seeds of division by undermining the freedoms endowed by our Creator, exhorting these young people to hate themselves and others. Leftist ideology has unduly influenced generations of young people to embrace illegal immigration, transgenderism, antisemitism, socialism and hatred of American values. This shift leftward of our society has left us vulnerable to Marxist vultures circling, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Marxists looking to consolidate power employ these indoctrinated pawns as an army of mindless automatons to promote their agenda. They use the age-old strategy of addition by division, creating an oppressor-oppressed, victim-victimizer, have and have-not argument to bolster their quest to institutionalize democratic socialism. One of the seven deadly sins that continually plagues humankind is envy, and class envy is the fuel that nourishes the engine of socialism.

Also benefiting from our young people’s self-loathing are the Muslims. Taking full advantage of our welcoming and tolerance, they position themselves to obtain positions in government. Once in power, those useful idiots that opened the door for their ascension, are left behind as Sharia law factors into the equation. Europe is discovering the insidiousness of the Muslim plan for dominance. Muslims refuse to assimilate into the culture that they have emigrated. They adhere to their own customs while refusing to acknowledge their responsibility as guests by treating their benefactors with disrespect. While Americans point fingers at each other as we try to out-virtue signal each other, Marxists and Muslims, strange bedfellows, sit ready to pounce. If we ignore the danger in plain sight, we will soon wake up to find a country that no longer resembles the land of the free.

Marxism and Islam are both a clear and present threat and must be defeated. President Trump was correct, the United States will never be a socialist nation, unless we allow it to happen. Sharia law has been instituted in portions of some blue cities. If you want burkha clad women to become the norm, ignore the Muslim threat. Immigrants that refuse to assimilate, abuse the hospitality offered them, and seek to change the culture should be sent back to their country of origin on the next available plane. Those who reside in America, yet hate it, have worn out their welcome. We cannot allow radical minorities create policy for the majority.

The ballot box is the most powerful tool for a representative republic. We have the power to elect representatives that are God fearing and adhere to traditional values. We have the power to be an informed electorate that elect those who would serve, not abuse their authority. Traditional values reprise the majority in this nation, yet our representatives include those who do not and seek to benefit themselves. Pervasive apathy has led to a government that serves itself rather than the people. Vote appropriately and make certain that everyone that you know that holds your values casts their vote this November.

Erstwhile Friends

 

Politics outweigh duty to allies.

The days of nations with a history of cooperation as allies has apparently come to a screeching halt. Disagreements on the environment, fair trade, and borders has led to leaders of erstwhile friendly nations to squabble and name call. Leaders of nations react with outrage when they are called out for neglecting their cooperative responsibilities. In politics, rhetoric should never be a cause for ruining long-standing relationships. Donald Trump can be very blunt and antagonistic, but relationships among nations cannot be adversely affected by personally disagreeable discourse. Nations can disagree and negotiate, but personal animosity cannot disrupt alliances or trade. European countries were quick to come to the aid of Denmark, sending a number of troops, after Trump's insistence that the US control this strategically important arctic island.

The Strait of Hormuz is a major shipping route for oil and LNG, with about 20% of the world supply passing through the narrow corridor. The United States receives less than 10% of its oil through the strait. Asian markets rely heavily on that shipping lane for their domestic energy supply. The Israeli/US strikes on Iran have led to a restricted flow of oil and LNG through the strait. The Strait of Hormuz is bordered by Iran on the east and ships have been reluctant to navigate the strait due to threats by Iran to attack ships passing through. President Trump has requested assistance from other countries to secure the Strait of Hormuz to enable the safe passage of oil tankers. The European Union has rejected calls to assist. Other countries that rely upon shipping through the strait have also refused to cooperate, even though it would be in their best interests.

For Europe, unfettered immigration from Muslim countries have left them vulnerable to the now large bloc of Muslim immigrants. These Muslim immigrants refuse to assimilate into their new country’s society and outright reject western culture. Muslim men are violent, committing sexual assaults on the women of the countries that welcomed them in. The governments of these nations are so afraid of the rising Muslim minority that they have enacted “hate speech” laws that prosecute those who call out the violence by Muslims. The perpetrators of Islamic terror in their streets continue without accountability. In other words, most European governments are afraid of the problem they created by welcoming those who reject western culture and harbor distain for those who are not followers of Islam.

What is truly interesting is that the Arab states are lining up to support the US/Israel operations in Iran. These states, which have been in the past, lukewarm to the US presence in the Gulf region and bristled at Israeli retaliatory strikes in the region. The Abraham Accords have reconfigured alliances among the Gulf States and opened productive dialog with Israel, the US, and other western nations. Several of the Gulf States have even expressed a desire to join in on the attacks on Iran, as they have been targeted with unprovoked missile attacks by the Iranian regime.

With the ICBM attack on the US military base in Diego Garcia, 4000 KM from Iran, many European capitals finally realize that they are within range of the Iranian regime, who care not who they attack. This has finally awakened the EU to the threat that this rouge regime poses to those who had refused previous calls from the US to assist and caused them to reconsider their position. The Iranian regime is a radical death cult, lashing out at any nation without regard to consequences. The Islamist clerics that rule are ruthless in their drive to maintain power as evidenced by the regime killing over 30,000 of their own people for engaging in anti-regime protests. This regime must fall to bring stability to the region and the world. Their military must be decimated. Their ability to manufacture weapons must be obliterated. Their designs on obtaining a nuclear weapon must be prevented, permanently, as they would not hesitate to use them.

Israel’s Operation “Roaring Lion” in conjunction with the US “Epic Fury,” looks to degrade the Iranian Regime to the point that Iran’s citizens will rise up and drive the Islamist extremists out of power. Israeli precision airstrikes have wiped out dozens of the regime’s military and clerical leaders. Iranians have been brutalized by these religious fanatics for over 47 years. Perhaps payback is in the cards. But whoever is now leading this oppressive regime refuses to surrender, lashing out indiscriminately at any country within reach of whatever weaponry they still possess.

The “global elite” in the EU need to realize just how important it is to support their allies, particularly the US. NATO would cease to exist and would be firmly in the crosshairs of Putin’s Russian army, as many of those nations barely maintain a semblance of an army. When your livelihood is imperiled by a rouge nation like Iran, it makes sense to support your friends in arms. The US request was not for our allies to engage in the actual conflict or to provide weaponry, just assistance with keeping the Strait of Hormuz open to shipping. Which should be a no-brainer as Europe gets a substantial amount of their energy needs from the Gulf States.

Friends support one another. Friends do not deny their friends. Friends uphold their obligations, especially if that friend holds the key to their security.

 

Integration

 

Islam will not relent until all convert.

Funny how life can often be boiled down into Star Trek episode plot lines. Back to the Borg, the all-conquering aliens that will assimilate all cultures into their own. Islam is less a religion than it is a political ideology. Muslims have emigrated throughout the western world like locusts, rejecting each welcoming nation’s culture and refusing to integrate into society. Like the Borg, their end goal is to overcome all who refuse to accept their prophet Mohammed, acknowledge Allah as their god, and replace the current government with Islamic rule.

Sexual assaults in European nations that welcome Muslim immigrants have exploded, with Muslim rape gangs committing multiple offenses. Islam apparently relegates women to less than human status. The Quran (4:34) gives license for men to subjugate women and encourages husbands to use corporal punishment to ensure their obedience. So much for equality.

Islam rejects homosexuality outright and instructs its followers to stone or to kill those transgressors.  Quran 7:80-84 "...For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.... And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone)"

In 2025, followers of Islam, the alleged religion of peace, perpetrated 2010 attacks in 48 countries, killing 14004 and injuring 6653. So much for the religion of peace. Peace to Islam is simply uttering the phrase, “Peace be upon him.” But what of the moderate Muslims? They are few and far between and their failure to condemn violence in the name of Allah is deafening.

In the Middle Ages most Christians could not read. They depended upon Catholic priests to impart Biblical teachings to them. Their spiritual life was dependent upon Catholic church doctrine and traditions. Yet, mass was performed in Latin, a language few understood, until the 20^th century. It is not surprising that many wayward traditions, such as indulgences, arose during this time. Many Muslim clerics preach Islamism, a more radical and abhorrent interpretation of the Quran and how Muslims are to interact in society. This is how radicals are created and encouraged.

Islam instructs its followers to reject everything that makes western society and the United States unique. Tolerance is not to be offered, particularly to the non-believer. Muslims are using the freedoms of western society to overthrow the very nations that welcome them. Islam is antithetical to a free and open society.

The Bible encourages hospitality. It also advises to use wisdom to avoid thieves or those who would cause you or your family harm. One must apply discernment when offering charity, serving those who truly are in need.

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” - Galatians 6:10

As we open our nation to refugees, we must make certain to offer our freedoms to those who would accept them gratefully, agree to obey our laws, and integrate into society. Muslims that refuse should have our hospitality revoked and sent back to their country of origin. Muslims stand accused of defrauding US taxpayer of tens of $Billions. Yet their Quran (16:106, 3:54, 3:28) condones and even encourages dishonesty and deceitfulness when dealing with non-believers in order to gain their trust so that they can be defeated. The tenets of Islam do not comport with a civil society. The behaviors that it condones must be rejected. Islam is wedded to 7^th Century conduct that is wholly unacceptable today. Islam cannot and will not co-exist with our values.

Allowing Islam to grow and spread within this nation will ultimately concede our way of life to an Islamic theocracy. We need to look no further than the European nations that have opened their borders and have been overwhelmed by the Muslim horde. If Muslim have their way, the United States will be no more. Muslim clerics preach hate and denigrate the very nation offering them hospitality, yet we fail to understand the threat to this nation.

Third World

 

Do what you do best?

When one escapes from a third world country, one can suffer culture shock and find it difficult to adjust. When one is accustomed to lawlessness, it can be difficult to adapt to a society guided by the rule of law. When one has lived without freedom, reacting to almost unlimited freedom can be challenging. When graft, corruption, and fraud is part and parcel of your life, assimilating into a society that values truth, justice, and hospitality can shake one to his core, unless, of course, you can utilize those skills to your advantage. Especially if your religion frowns upon the very principles that hold western society together and grants license to cheat, lie, and steal when dealing with unbelievers.

Far too many Muslims practice a perverted form of Islam, known as Islamism. Islamism exhorts its followers on a path of radical militancy. Islamism admonishes Muslims to forcibly “convert” non-believers and permits violence if they refuse. US foreign policy that attempted to impose western democracy on theocratic Middle Eastern Islamic societies failed miserably. Democracy is antithetical to Islam. In Islam theocracies religious leaders control government, institute religious law, and lead their armies. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of association that we take for granted are prohibited.

It is no surprise when Muslims refuse to assimilate into a culture that offers freedoms that are foreign and conflict with the tenets of the religion they practice. In other words, you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make them drink, especially if their Imam preaches that they should refuse to do so. This parallels liberals that flee democrat, poorly governed cities and states that enact policies that are detrimental to them. While they seek refuge in Republican, well governed states, they often continue to foolishly vote for democrats in their new homes.

Somali Muslims in Minnesota and other states stand accused of running fraud schemes that could result in tens of $Billions of taxpayer funds lost. Quran 3:54 - "And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers." “The Arabic word used here for scheme (or plot) is makara, which means 'cunning,' 'guile' and 'deceit'. If Allah is supremely deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same.” From Thereligionofpeace.com. Islam permits or encourages followers to engage in deception as a means to defeat the enemy, or non-believers. Islam is simply a false religion. There is no other way to justify a religion that promotes that type of behavior toward your fellow man.

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6. Christians are called to bring the lost to Christ in the Great Commission. Lying, cheating, and stealing is prohibited. Violence is abhorrent to our God and Creator. God is a God of love, not hate. Because of the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we want others to come to Christ in order to receive the joy of salvation that we are so grateful for. We do not hate or disparage non-believers; we are especially called to not to judge those who are lost. There is no call to punish unbelievers on this side of eternity. God wants every single one of His children to come to Him of their own volition. But those who choose to reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will have no place in His kingdom. It is the choice of the individual to believe or not.

Has the will of God been perverted by His church? Absolutely! It continues to this day. But the tenets of faith, as attested in the Bible, are clear, convincing, and most importantly, true. God’s will is perfect. Man’s religion is not. Obedience brings us closer to Him. Islam requires obedience and imposes earthly consequences on those who fail to obey. God sent His only Son to take upon all our sins, suffer the fate that we deserved, and rose from the dead, ensuring all believers a path to salvation. Salvation is gained by faith alone. God’s word is Scripture alone.

Every day democrats raise the alarm that Christianity and conservative values are an existential threat to our democracy! The true threat to democracy is tacitly supporting the institution of Muslim authority. DNI Tulsi Gabbard recently decried the growing influence of Islam in several cities, including in Paterson, New Jersey. This prompted Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) to accuse Gabbard of Islamophobia and to defend the Muslim residents of that city. Too bad he could not get so fired up over the antisemitic and anti-Christian rhetoric emanating from he and his party. Paterson has seen a large uptick in crimes against persons. Paterson, NJ has crime rates higher than 93.4% of other cities in the US. Their Muslim mayor declared Paterson the capital of Palestine during Ramadan this year. Perhaps Senator Booker should be more concerned about confronting crime in his state.

We are called to love our neighbor as ourselves. That command carries great weight and responsibility. Islam is not another path to salvation. Islam views Jesus Christ as a prophet, not the Son of God and does not recognize His resurrection. Without Jesus, followers of Islam will not receive salvation. In our interactions, led by Christian love, we must realize that fact. As with any non-believer, we must reach out in Christian love until all have heard. Partnering with the Islamic faith should be undertaken with the realization that they are as lost as unbelievers. Plant the seeds of faith. Do not be afraid to proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior. God wants all His children to dwell with Him through eternity. Treating Islam as another valid path to God only puts your neighbor at odds with Him.

Jesus said, “Furthermore, the Father judges no one, but has assigned all judgment to the Son, so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life. Truly, truly, I tell you, the hour is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted the Son to have life in Himself. And He has given Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.” John 5:22-27

 

 

Hospitality

 

Kindness is repaid with malicious recompense.

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Share with the saints who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:2, 13.

These verses are the rallying cry of many progressive churches that support and facilitate unfettered illegal immigration by welcoming all who “claim” refugee status. But, when hospitality is offered and accepted, respect must be given to the host. Failing to do so delegitimizes those imposing on their benefactors. Far too many of those welcomed into our nation pay back the hospitality with criminal actions. Instead of assimilating into their adopted homeland, they show contempt for the freedoms available to them. Rather than adding to our diversity and making a positive contribution to society, they are content to be a drain on our nation’s resources. Immigration without assimilation is tantamount to an invasion.

Those who advocate for those who take advantage of a nation’s good will are far from that which God expects. Those organizations that tout their tolerance, welcoming, and diversity as showing the love of Christ are completely misinterpreting Scripture. God’s love is perfect. Man’s love is far from it. The law of unintended consequences, or perhaps intended, impacts our imperfect love. Citing individual lines of Scripture, to fulfill human desires, without the context necessary to properly interpret God’s intent, is a recipe for disaster. Scripture must be the basis to guide our actions, and not as a justification of our actions. Follow God’s word, submit to His will, walk in obedience, and your path will be set straight.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Some immigrants, in particular some Muslims, are exploiting the western world’s hospitality to enable their plan to overcome the majority and convert society to an Islamic state. Islam is a false religion that rejects the deity of Christ and should be rejected, not embraced as another path to salvation. It is not a religion of peace, it advocates for its followers to commit acts of violence against unbelievers, or infidels. Our tolerance is used by Islamists to trample upon the Judeo-Christian values that we have relied upon for centuries to establish and maintain an effective and productive society. 

When immigrants bite the hand that feeds them, it just may be time to shake the dust off our sandals and reject the premise of affording compassion. If they reject the customs and practices of their host nation, instead trying to impose their belief system, they pervert any privilege due them. Unfortunately, Muslims are not alone as we have witnessed rioting from illegal immigrants waving flags of the very countries they fled. All the while, our fellow citizens on the left encourage lawlessness with continuous anti-American rhetoric.

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God.  Consequently, whoever resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.” Romans 13:1-2

Muslims are using our own compassion and desire to love our neighbors as a tool to defeat Christianity. Yet, some of our churches are the most naïve and are exploited by the very people they hope to help. As followers of Christ, we are also taught to turn the other cheek, but that does not require us to be led like a lamb to slaughter. But that is what our brothers and sisters are accomplishing, whether it is their intent or not. If we stand by and allow Muslims to attain a majority, they will be successful in their plan to fundamentally transform America and the west.

"The same networks that once focused on community services are now mobilizing voters and producing candidates. This is how political Islam adapts inside democracy." Fox News report.

Those that use the freedoms afforded those who live in the US to the detriment of the majority have no place in an open society. Those who would destroy us have made their intentions plain, yet those who are squarely in the crosshairs cannot see, nor understand the implications. Many diminish the risk that unfettered immigration of Muslims will supersede current geo-political mores, but a Muslim majority can and will shift the politics and religious freedoms currently enjoyed by western nations. Those coexist bumper stickers are antithetic to Islam. Islam seeks to overwhelm and replace religious freedom and institute an Islamic state. History has shown as much as former Christian nations such as Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and more became Muslim nations once conquered. Today, no weapons will be necessary to conquer this nation. Our tolerance and acceptance will become our undoing.

On Tuesday, useful idiots in New York are likely to elect an avowed radical communist Muslim as mayor of that city on a shining hill. His intentions are exposed by the light of day, yet he is expected to prevail, nonetheless. Somali Muslims have taken over a portion of Minneapolis and speak of instituting Sharia law, with the blessing of some of their city and state leaders. Dearborn, Michigan is predominantly Muslim and has seen a marked increase in criminality. This is our future if we are content to stand idly by. Any immigrant residing in this nation that espouses evil intent should have their immigration status revoked immediately and deported. Yes, we are a nation of immigrants that should welcome refugees with open arms. But only those who want to be here and contribute to society should be extended that hospitality, not those who would destroy us from within.

Immigration without assimilation is tantamount to an invasion.

Justification

 

Justification is the act of providing a good reason or explanation for something, often used in legal contexts to mean a valid defense for an action. It can also refer to the process of being declared righteous or acquitted, especially in religious terms. Google Assistant AI answer.

From the BBC Ethics Guide regarding war;

Six conditions must be satisfied for a war to be considered just:

• The war must be for a just cause.
• The war must be lawfully declared by a lawful authority.
• The intention behind the war must be good.
• All other ways of resolving the problem should have been tried first.
• There must be a reasonable chance of success.
• The means used must be in proportion to the end that the war seeks to achieve.

How should a Just War be fought?

A war that starts as a Just War may stop being a Just War if the means used to wage it are inappropriate.

• Innocent people and non-combatants should not be harmed.
• Only appropriate force should be used.

·         This applies to both the sort of force, and how much force is used.

• Internationally agreed conventions regulating war must be obeyed.”

On October 7^th, 2023 Hamas attacked Israel, deliberately targeting innocent civilians, ruthlessly killing 1189 and taking 251 hostages back to Gaza. The atrocities committed by Hamas on that day were obscene. Killing babies, raping women, and killing entire families while laughing maniacally during their escapade. It was literally an embodiment of pure evil. There is absolutely no justification for the actions of Hamas on that day.

So much for any chance of reaching a two-state solution.  For Hamas it is their stated goal to pursue only the “from the river to the sea” solution, built upon the dead bodies of every Israeli. To radical Islamists, the only good Jew is a dead Jew. The land of Israel is the ancestral home of the Israelites, given to them by God as the promised land. The Lord said to Moses, “I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. And I have promised to bring you up out of your affliction in Egypt, into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.” Exodus 3:8, 17.

Islam accepts that God’s revelation was revealed to the prophets of the Old Testament, Abraham, Moses, Noah, and others, but further believes some of the original text was corrupted (only those that Islam rejects based on a long-standing hostility against Jews) from the revelation, compilation, and canonization of the Old Testament Bible. Conversely, Islam accepts that the Quran was revealed to Mohammed, compiled into written form, much of it after his death. Numerous translations of the Quran were in circulation. Around 650AD one version was canonized, and all others were burned to prevent confusion. Yet, Islam professes the Quran as wholly the word of God, uncorrupted.

Radical Islam and the civilized world cannot coexist. Radical Islamists have used passages of the Quran to justify murdering innocents. Radical Islam cannot and will not legitimately seek peace with Israel and the west. Hamas is populated with Islam-fascists that gleefully wage war against Israel, even as they radicalize and exploit the Palestinian population. This war was begun and escalated by Hamas, and they must be rooted out and eliminated. Yes, this is a just war, and Radical Islam should be rejected wholeheartedly by every Muslim. Until such a time as that occurs, this war must continue until Hamas and their evil ideology is defeated.

"This is what the LORD says: “As for all My evil neighbors who attack the inheritance that I bequeathed to My people Israel, I am about to uproot them from their land, and I will uproot the house of Judah from among them. But after I have uprooted them, I will once again have compassion on them and return each one to his inheritance and to his land.

And if they will diligently learn the ways of My people and swear by My name, saying, ‘As surely as the LORD lives’—just as they once taught My people to swear by Baal—then they will be established among My people. But if they will not obey, then I will uproot that nation; I will uproot it and destroy it, declares the LORD.” Jeremiah 12:14-17

Pray for Lutherans in Ethiopia

Brothers and sisters in Christ, what follows is an email received from Gemichis Buba, mission director for the North American Lutheran Church. This is an urgent call to pray for our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia who are once again experiencing persecution, this time at the hands of Muslim extremists. Please lift up our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia in prayer that the Lord may protect them from the evil confronting them and to allow them to worship in peace. See the Christian Today article.

Dearly beloved,

Grace and peace to you,

I am sure by now you have all come back to your normal routines and back to the family and ministry you love. Thanks be to God for the privilege of having most you in Ethiopia on those historic few days in Addis Ababa.

I am writing this email to share with a prayer call I am asked to pass on to you by the President of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus, the Rev. Dr. Wakseyoum Idossa.

In the last few days over 41 churches and several evangelical mission stations or mission congregations were burned down. There are thousands of people expelled from their homes and some who are even badly beaten and killed. The perpetrators are Radical Islamist and Jihadist elements who are now operating in the western and south western parts of Ethiopia. I have spoken with Rev. Wakseyoum as he was visiting Mekane Yesus Churches and Synods close to the border of Sudan. The Voice of America (VOA) called, got in touch with him and interviewed him today and he spoke to the world from that remote spot through this international VOA radio streamed out of Washington DC.

On that interview given in Amharic he stated that, the Mekane Yesus have intentionally worked hard to establish good relationships with Muslim Ethiopians and that work have resulted in so much good and positive relationship. However he is shocked and saddened by this outbreak lashing out in heartbreaking atrocities. This brutal act is not the first of its kind. Three years ago Muslim fundamentalists have burned down several churches, killed evangelists, pastors and lay leaders. They are now repeating the same attacks. Today thousands have lost their homes, churches, family members and their rights to safely worship and conduct their ministries.

The Ethiopian government officials and security forces have intervened. The out come of their work is yet to be known. Some leaders from the central office of the Mekane Yesus Church in Addis Ababa have traveled to the area today to start getting help to the victims. There are many people who are now waiting to get some emergency aid in a camp. President Idossa is going to release another statement in the next few days as the investigation continues and as the government tries to bring these acts under control and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Please pray about this!! I also suggest that we send letters carrying words of encouragement and stating our commitment to pray for them. In order to do this in a coherent form I suggest that these letters come from;

Persecution is not new to our church, however every time it happens it opens up old wounds and breaks the hearts of many. In the middle all these our brothers and sisters are walking into this holy Lenten season not with ashes on their forehead but carrying the cross of Christ and confessing their faith in the words of Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my shepherd!"

May God renew our world in this Lenten season through the Holy Word of God and through power grace of God through Christ, Amen!!
